Barcode: 718122200016
Product code: GMSTA-25614
Assembled size: Approx. 42 × 42 × 13.5 cm
Material: Pre-cut wooden components
Power: Mechanical — no batteries required

Build a working model based on Leonardo da Vinci’s catapult designs from the Codex Atlanticus. The Pathfinders kit uses bent wooden arms to store energy, with a ratchet and release mechanism that brings the finished model to life.

The wooden pieces are supplied pre-cut and pre-drilled, with instructions for assembling the mechanism. Once complete, the catapult can launch the included soft clay ball more than four metres, making the mechanics of tension, stored energy and projectile motion easy to see in action.

Because the completed model launches a projectile, age guidance varies between markets; current US safety listings recommend it for ages 14+.
