Product specs

Dark Fairy Tales collects Viktor Wynd’s taste for the stranger, darker and more unruly side of folklore. Drawn from stories encountered across Wales, Ireland, Arabia, Germany, Norway, Papua New Guinea and Borneo, these tales favour grotesque turns, bad decisions and endings that are not always comfortably moral.

Key features

  • A collection of dark folk and fairy tales from several storytelling traditions.
  • Features witches, trolls, changelings, shapeshifters and other unsettling figures.
  • Written for adult readers rather than presented as a children’s fairy-tale collection.
  • Balances macabre material with Wynd’s dry, mischievous storytelling style.
